Kim Pollard is a girl with "chops" (talent) according to artist Kiff Holland. Recently becoming a full time artist, she has gained instant recognition for her works. " I am an instinctive painter, each new painting is approached in a manner dependent on the emotion, mood and subject matter. I use colour in a direct and expressive way, playing with technique and using a variety of mediums, letting the essence of my personality come through onto the canvas"
Influenced by the Impressionists, Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, and many Artists of today, Kim Pollard listens to the rhythm of her own steps but owing much of her technical skills, knowledge and development through University studies, numerous workshops and experimentation. "Painting to me creates a bridge of communication that needs no words and is universal allowing a perception of moments in time to live forever"
Kim Pollard was born 'with brush in hand' in 1965 in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada. She is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and is a member of the G-10 life study group, a fellowship of artists that meet to exercise their visual skills and a forum for thought stimuli and inspiration. You will find Kim's works and commissions in private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States and abroad.
