Kim
Pollard is a girl with "chops" (talent) according to artist Kiff Holland.
Recently becoming a full time artist, she has gained instant recognition for
her works. " I am an instinctive painter, each new painting is approached
in a manner dependent on the emotion, mood and subject matter. I use colour
in a direct and expressive way, playing with technique and using a variety
of mediums, letting the essence of my personality come through onto the canvas"
Influenced
by the Impressionists, Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, and many Artists
of today, Kim Pollard listens to the rhythm of her own steps but owing much
of her technical skills, knowledge and development through University studies,
numerous workshops and experimentation. "Painting to me creates a bridge of
communication that needs no words and is universal allowing a perception of
moments in time to live forever"
Kim
Pollard was born 'with brush in hand' in 1965 in Vancouver British Columbia,
Canada. She is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and
is a member of the G-10 life study group, a fellowship of artists that meet
to exercise their visual skills and a forum for thought stimuli and inspiration.
You will find Kim's works and commissions in private and corporate collections
in Canada, the United States and abroad.

Attitude of Gratitude All my life all I ever wanted to be was an Artist. I would
tell people all the time that if they wished to do something in their life,
for example, drawing…. it all begins with desire. I believe we are all Artists
in one way or another. The love, passion and the joy, the knowing intuitively
that we are doing what we were meant to be doing and there is absolutely no
doubt about it. Sometimes it takes awhile to get there …and there are many bumps
along the way… but with desire and determination, I believe anything is possible.
It is also important to have people in your life that are supportive and are
the hands upon your back, which help guide you in the right direction. I have
many people in my life that I need to thank. These wonderful people/friends/mentors
have been tremendously inspirational and encouraging… always seeing that the
dream was possible and unselfishly offering assistance and guidance and friendship
along the way. Bob & Laurie McMurray, Richard & Diane McDiarmid, Brent & Nancy
Lynch, Stu Richardson and Bernard Major, Karen Pohlmann, my dear friend Penny
Dewar and many, many more that have touched my life and I will always be grateful
for their insightful words and praise. I also would like to thank my family,
my Mom and Dad, and especially my daughters for putting up with the long hours
in the studio and helping out around home. And most of all I would like to thank
my web designer Bjarne Christensen, who lives a world away, and even with the
miles that separate us physically, accomplished this task of designing my site
with expert ease and brilliance. He has been a constant source of inspiration
and his high standards for design is second to none. His design work on the
www.weed.dk site is a work of art in itself. This man is going places!
